Remember Jill and Help Cure Cancer!
Every year, Dana and I participate in the Damon Runyon 5K at Yankee Stardium as part of the team Bluebirds in Pinstripes. The team is named in memory of my sister, Jill, who lost her battle to cancer in 1990 at the age of 11. Captained by her best friend, Sharon, Bluebirds in Pinstripes is our way of remembering Jill by supporting Damon Runyon, an amazing cancer research foundation.
100% of the money raised will be used by the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation to fund innovative research by today's most brilliant young scientists, who are racing to find the causes and cures for all types of cancer. Unlike many other cancer foundations, Damon Runyon is completely focused on scientific research -- the best chance of us finding more meaingful cures to cancer and among the most efficient ways to contribute to anti-cancer work. Additionally, Damon Runyon is one of the most respected and well-run foundations in the world.
To those of you who have donated in the past, thank you so much! I once again ask for your support. Some of you may be wondering -- didn't I just donate to this? Well, the answer is that last year the run was in November! So this run is less than a full year after. But I promise, it will never be more than once a year!
Let me know if you have any questions and thank you for your support.
